11/19 Update Observations Thread (PvP & Character Changes)

Patch Notes: http://closershq.com/Discussion-11-19-Update-Summary

Just post any observations that you found to be interesting in this patch. Doesn't matter if it is blatantly obvious or not, any information is useful. Big Grin

You could even repeat that a skill that was a grab in PvE is still grab in PvP, who knows, maybe some grabs aren't grab in PvP. Any information at all
will be useful to players. Big Grin
(e.g. skill differences in PvP, skill mechanic adjustment, stats in PvP, etc. etc.)

CORRECTIONS ARE VERY WELCOME TOO.

Observations will be listed on the Observations List.

  • Win determined by the first to score 2 victories

  • All skill multipliers reduced by about 50%

Seha
  • Point Blank Strike
    • Grab
    • Tackle motion does not have invulnerability frames or Super Armor, but firing shots does.
  • Flame Pulverization
    • Cannot be grabbed

Seulbi
  • Gravitational Field
    • Master hit restands

J
  • Jade Magnetism
    • First hit does not crash SA
    • Second hit is grab

  • Lance Burst
    • Grab

Nata doesn't feel like he even got buffed. FM3 is the only skill that really feels significantly stronger.

Ragnarok now drops all of its spears MUCH faster.

And for legendary level 62 weapons and modules, there's character specific ones, and only two for each, so you're locked to two specific types of cores:

Seha: Sword and Claw
Seulbi, Misteltein, and Levia: Wand and Lantern
Yuri: Whip and Scythe
J: Dagger and Hammer
Nata: Dagger and Claw

No 15% CDR options for Seha and Yuri, although J and Nata's daggers come with 15% CDR instead of the usual 10%.

the only notable thing is -12sec cd on purgatory and -10sec cd on fireworks, everything else is nothing but minor tweaking that barely changed anything.

J will still get a full revamp (according to the PVP teaser , it shows a new skill) so let's hope Nata get a full revamp too..

Did i mention the new Lv62 gears actually suck compared to Lv54?

Well, now i did.

The modules are definitely bad, the weapons alone MIGHT give more DPS at a different stat's cost (such as critical chance) or some options that wouldn't increase DPS and you can't tell if they are good or not (penetration?)

Also, why does seha's sword have built in 15% penetration SERIOUSLY? SEHA IGNORES DEFENSE COMPLETELY YET YOU GIVE HIM THAT?????????

Either way, if you choose to use those new gears or not, you will barely notice any difference as it will be extremely small.

And i still believe its best to keep the Lv54 gears if you own a 2x non set modules (rare+raw atk) & 2x 3/5 sets and seha HP card? at least converting to the new weapon+new module will definitely make you lose DPS in this case.

If you decide to use a random weapon, take in mind that you can wear another character's weapon, but not profit from the skill additional effect (OA first skill +12% critical damage for weapons, Trainee 1st skill +12% critical damage for modules, FM1 +10% critical chance for the 2/2 set, on any set + the first 3 trainee skills Lv+1.)

And remember that the new weapons don't have a proc or activation effect.

Well, upgrading from 54 lantern/wand to 62 wand might be an upgrade for my Levia and Seulbi. (Levia's ASpd would shoot up.) But replacing their Yellow Aerial/CHC/CHD modules with the 62 set one would be a definite loss though, since they'd lose 12% CHC and 10% Aerial just to get 3% CHD.....

But for everyone else, should I aim for the 54 lanters as I was, or the new weapons? Because I think I'll have an easier time trying to get those weapon drops (Nata already has his daggers.) than going through the 68 crystal RNG boxes for only a 1 in 5 chance of a lantern.

By the way, the weapon cores aren't character-locked, so if you only care about the general stats and don't care for the 2-set effect or the additional Skill boosts, you can just get anyone's anything and upgrade that.

Imo, missing out on a lot by skipping out on the 2-set effect, but to each his own.
