If Nata/Revia is what the game needs to rely on in order to get itself back in track on the top lists. Then I'm afraid to say that the future of closers is pretty bleak. Great games stay on the top lists without any "gimmicks", as to them they are nothing more but additional boosts towards an already fun gameplay.
I'm very disappointed at the direction this game is heading. Thanks Naddick for ruining a great concept of a game, it was fun while it lasted.
Anyone can try to defend Closers and bash other already successful games as much as they may want *cough*Black Desert*cough* but the numbers and statistics aren't lying.
At this rate, only a miracle could bring an ElswordKR-esque playerbase to Closers.
Closers was already set to die a while ago to be honest. I don't know what's going on through Naddic's mind right now, the game has been out for nearly a year yet new content is barren and nowhere to be seen. I stopped playing months ago, but I really did support the game at one point and wanted it to succeed. Unfortunately that didn't happen, and it's sad considering Closers was a game that had so, so much potential and hype surrounding it. The summer updates seemed to give hope that the game would still be alive, but given Naddic's track record, that's probably going to be the only REAL content we'll get for that entire year.
I mean, I guess I now know why most of Naddic is made up of former KOG employees.
Is it Summer yet?
And Eve was a different situation. Eve saved a game that was never too popular and literally on the verge of cancelation. Closers started off with a massive hype train, fell off, and..... could still be doing good even if it's not in the top #50 for all we know.
Nexon also keeps up Mabinogi, (Nowhere near as popular as it was in its prime.) Dragon Nest, (Not too popular these days.) and Kritika. (Pretty sure it was NEVER that popular. I didn't even know Nexon was the one hosting the game until recently.) So it's not like Closers is likely to get shut down anytime soon.....
.....They better get Nata out before Maple Story 2 as a defensive move though. Because MS2 is going to siphon the hell out of every other Nexon game's playerbase. South Korea hasn't hyped a game this hard since Starcraft 2.
Nexon KR dropped Dragon's Nest. Last I saw the game it was in the 40s
Kiritika is doing decent in KR. It's not as doing well as Mabinogi Heroes or Elsword, but it's holding up.
Grand Chase shut down despite being in the 40s. Meanwhile Closers isn't even in the top 100 anymore. Food for thought.
If Closers's summer updates aren't enough to save the game, then it'll definitely get shut down by next year. And keep in mind all MMOs save their best updates for the sunmer, so Closers has to compete from an already dwindling playerbase.
You can tell that Nexon had high expectations for Closers solely by how much they advertised it and the tremendous budget. Suddenly they dropped all of that support and all of the attention they gave the game disappeared. Honestly, given Naddic's past performance, the game's future isn't looking very bright.
Really? They dropped Dragon Nest? Well, I guess that explains why they're making a mobile only DN2.....
Don't worry guys, Nata's on the way!
