[DISCUSSION] CloserS Cashshop & rocky launch

Exclamation
DISCLAIMER: NONE OF THIS IS BECAUSE I'M A TIGHTASS, I NOW HAVE A PART TIME JOB AND I'M ON $500 A WEEK, I HAVE NO BILLS, NO CONTRACTS AND I ONLY GO OUT ON WEEKENDS, MONEY IS NO ISSUE FOR ME. PLUS IF YOU SKIM THIS POST AND BRING UP SOMETHING I'VE COVERED, I WILL EAT YOUR LIVER.

Firstly, yes they put a lot of effort in yet the game is new yes I know they have to "make money somehow" you're not the Elsword community I shouldn't have to repeat the disclaimer time and time again, I'm just gonna hop straight into it.

Right now, and even MORE-SO at launch, pricing is ridiclous, especially considering how much they charge for, and I dunno about you guys, but I'm fairly sure most kMMOs I play don't start charging for LESS things as time goes on. (Unless you're Maplestory)

Now, despite seeming genuinely respectable and wanting a very non-cash-heavy game, they've been very quick to add more "milking" aspects to the game since it's release, 30 and 15 day only transparent equipment? (30 days costing as much as regular permanent equipment) I mean we're already PAYING for our "magical wardrobe" slots, we should be allowed to make items invisible through THAT. VIP packages for 30 days still go up to $50, which is just ridiclous, a simple VIP service costing more than a 3DS game (yes it's not NEEDED, people who're gonna go on about "but it's not necessary" clearly don't know what I'm getting at) They also changed boss-costumes from being craftable to only being available as a drop.

So, what do I PERSONALLY (OPINIONNNNNNNN) think is a fair cash shop?

Firstly, let's talk about the fact that there is near ZERO customization outside of paying for it. Cmon, I get that you're an action game, but locking players from a whole feature is just atrocious, especially considering how much of a rough (VERY ROUGH) start the game has had. We also have FOUR VIP specials, all costing an outragous amount.

So, what can we do to not only make the game a lot more new user friendly, and perhaps do some damage control from the VERY rough start CloserS has had?

- Hairstyles should purchaseable with JUST Union Medals, a player's first character should also be given a side quest that allows them to choose one 1 star hairstyle for free, this is ONLY for a person's first character.

- Costume pricing is still....ridiclous, yeah you can discount it but a discount system is no excuse for ridiclous prices, especially when without events, Union Medals are REALLY hard to rack up in large amounts, so costumes need sliiiiight price adjustments.
   - 1 star costumes $15 > $10
   - 2 star costumes $40 > $30

- Union Medals shouldn't reset once a month, seriously Naddic, dick move.

- The Bunny Girl/Gachapon system should allow 1 star costume tickets to be bought with just Union Medals, enabling costumes with Union Medals but still making it fairly hard, yeah it's RNG but it's better than no option, plus if I said "make all costumes purchaseable with Union Medals" half the community would eat me up, so it's a decent middle ground.

- VIP services. Seriously, 4 different services? How about, you turn all the VIP services into just ONE universal VIP service, and charge $30 for 30 days, that's about as logical as I can see it, that's still WAY overpricing it (Vindictus VIP offers similar benefits and is only $9.50)

I'm not asking for ERYTHANG FREE, I'm just asking for a new game that had a rough start to suck up to it's audience to make up for a rocky start, I want this game to last, I love it so much and it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

I'd LOVE to see this.

Yes. Literally yes.
Given the ability to get most things in Closers for free,(costume weapons have a low chance of dropping in dungeons. My J has three of them. None of them are for J and seals are going for 5000000000 money and your firstborn child) I can understand why the cash shop is how it is, but Union medals need to AT LEAST last longer than they do right now. Don't know how long, but just a month is really stupid, especially given the low amount of things you can get with purely UM.

Closers has the potential to be super swag 64, but it needs to be tweaked a decent amount. In almost every regard.

As much as I would support the changes suggested here, you better know how to type in Han-geul and post all this in the official site. Otherwise, Nexon's not gonna see.

No idea how Naddic even thought Union Medals were a good idea. They're the reason why everything in this game has jacked up prices. Besides, who the **** pays $40 for a decent costume? I could buy real clothes with that much.
Like, Union Medals have so many restrictions on them there's no point. They reset, so you can't save up to get anything pricey, the amount of things buy-able with Union Medals are severely limited, and getting UM in the first place is a huge chore, considering how much the grind ramps up post 30 and the fact that nobody plays AoS anymore.

If it's one thing Naddic dropped the ball with with Closers it's their aim for the audience. They believed that they were able to reach a dedicated, hardcore playerbase. Hence the exorbitant prices, difficulty, and this game's ridiculous grind, exemplified by the OA quest that we all know and love. They failed because of how limiting this game's Stamina system is, the lack of PvP (and thus competition and end-game content), and how grinding for UM isn't even worth it unless you have no life.
This turned off the potential hardcore audience, and what they ended up with is simply a frustrated playerbase with a game that can only be fun for so long without getting repetitive.
This is why a lot of MMOs are becoming streamlined, because it opens the game up to a much wider audience. The majority of gamers play games for fun, not competition (Not to mention most hardcore gamers are stuck on LoL anyway). This is why games like Elsword are revamping dungeons to be shorter (albeit more challenging) and visually appealing, it's more fun to play a game that's easy to level and smooth enough to play through without becoming boring.

On one hand, personally because I get tired easily these days, 170 stam with 10 per dungeon run is kind of enough to get some things done. On the other hand, it isn't enough to progress that far when you're planning to do something that'll take most of the day, and it's still a hassle to empty it for the 200 UM, which I think isn't worth the time you waste.

Also give up on the PvP thing. It's already obvious at this point that traditional PvP for this game will not work well. Especially when you have:
-a character that has defense ignore as main trait
-a character that can deal both physical and magical damage, in addition to having ranged attacks that pierce through people and a screen-filling ultimate that WILL catch you unless you were somehow in the air
-a character that can alter gravity around her and catch you with I don't know how many AoEs
-a character that can hold you up by the throat and make you completely helpless as he pummels into you
Not to mention we're soon going to have a character that can hook you into his lance, has wide swings all around, and can control the battlefield by setting shock lances on the ground. If you can find a way to make a fully functioning, balanced PvP game mode out of the stuff you can see without having to take apart and rebuild the entire game, do tell how.

PvP modifiers, combos would do more damage than skills, and that pretty much every character would be balanced by their own strengths vs the other character's strengths.
Seha and his true-damage explosion air combos vs Seulbi's AoE and ranged kit, for example.

Or, more simply:

It'll still devolve into Elsword levels of balance, especially since people like Seha and J still have their pulls(with Seha's pull being an AoE), Seha, J and Tein all have grabs, Seulbi has Gravitational Field(which instantly knocks enemies up) and Space Compression(Generate Blackhole as an active), Yuri's Blitz has a blackhole effect, etc., all on top of the fact that Forced Cancel has a minute long cooldown time unless you spent skill points in it, as well as all their skills(including the ultimates) ready to fire from the get-go. Putting cooldown restrictions on the ultimates a la Hyper Actives in Elsword makes it moot since their pulls and hooks work essentially like actives.

Unless they make it like DFO or something, Closers traditional PvP will essentially be who presses their 'I Win' button first wins, except everyone has multiple 'I Win' buttons and they come in different colors.

So you're basically saying 'fight broken with broken' and that the game is balanced because everyone else is unbalanced. Yeah that's totally gonna end well, sure.
