Is closers still popular
#1
Hello. Because of my studies I had to quit closers for a while. Now that I'm on vacation I can focus on playing this game again. I wanna know if this game is still as popular as it used to be. The reason I'm asking is because I read other forum articles about closers being released in JP and quite a handful of English speaking players intend to go there. I don't think I wanna waste time playing and leveling and getting the gear I got in KR again in JP. If the English community will be better in JP I might go there too, but don't feel like it. So I wanna know if this game is as popular/crowded as it used to be. Should I resume this game or wait till Japanese release and see if the market/money(currency) will be better? Just want some insight.

I see where you're going here with the popularity with the KR community. So far I can't make a judgement whether or not this is still as popular as it use to be; though I can say there's not much activity going on recently. I've been trying to see if there's anyone who'd reach out to me so we can have a little group to tag along in dungeons and pvp with. But, if JP release is coming soon; it's just a hunch that it'd be better using ' PSO2 JP logic'

And what is the logic? I haven't played pso2 cause my PC is outdate and can't play a high end game like that.

Well , people who came note of the games that get released in japan. First thing they consider doing to PSO2 was create an English patch. They did the same with various other games; Truth be told my own assumption is that they'll end up creating a English patch for Closers and that will a cool sight to see.

Game is nowhere near as popular as it used to be. Might see a resurgence with summer updates (whenever that happens...) but the hype will just die down again if there's going to be another update drought.

It's not. The Summer updates are coming, they've announced lots of content, but until then it's not.

I'm not sure why a lack of updates (Granted, there HAVE been updates. We got new stages not too long ago.) hit Closers so hard while other games have seen even less updates yet held on to their playerbase better, but at this point, people are only running the endgame stages while the lower level stages are barren. Whatever new players come in are most likely being turned away from the lack of other players, since this same problem is also discouraging the players that are staying around from leveling up alts.

Nata and Ruvia will provide temporary relief, but I'm not sure how they can really find a permanent solution to this. (Besides, say, finally reducing the god damn EXP tables. Nobody likes the 45-47 grind, which used to be a 45-48 grind.)

Basically this is what I think, sadly.

Oh. I see. Well if japan community will be better I might switch, but I'll wait a few days to see how that goes. It's boring leveling your chars again but... Either way. I solo all the times cause I have old pc and barely manages to make it to the minimum system req. Solo wise I have no problem. Even 2 player party is good. But at 3-4 player party my pc can't handle it. In the end guess I'll see what japan intends to do with this game.

I would be honest in this, closers was way less popular 1~2months ago.
There was a time where no one really cared about the game, and even HQ was desert to the point of seeing one or 2 persons on it per day at most.
Recently? People are asking for links to download, others are buying KR accs, & there's new players joining,+ JP is good news, soooooooooo, overall, its kinda getting more popular compared to before, but not better than first day for sure.
