I'm currently playing as Yuri, and I've just been wondering...

What's the point?

Why use skills in the air?

I heard when Seha gets Official Agent Status, there are some bonus stats for stuff done in air.

Some attacks have better properties when used in the air. Yuri's Star Finishing Move is a prime example of this. At Expert, using Yuri's Star in the air does more damage than the combined action of the ground Star + Fire Tornado from Advance. Not only does it do more damage but it also comes out instantly and hits all targets in the star with it's Master extension rather than close to Yuri.

There are also of course stats such as extra damage/crit rate while doing an aerial attack or back attack. Overall some skills are just better to do in the Air because they usually end up being faster and doing either the same damage or more. The only reason to not do certain attacks in the air is because they would interrupt someone else's attack or prevent the entire team from attacking since the monsters are kept airborne.

add on to what BluePylon said

sometime when mob be launched skilled in mid air will gain some advantage of damage faster over time, and more damage.

Plus, if you making a combo, mid air skills might be necessary for the combo to do the highest damage out put over the short amount of time. ( that's the concept of mid-air skill in my opinion)

There are also stats to increase mid air damage, crit damage, crit rate, etc.

Really easy way to increase damage.

Seulbi's electric orb is better used midair sometimes because it will move forward instead of being stationary.

Also from what I have seen, when you knock enemies into the air they don't super armor or counter you so once you launch them, you can let loose with your aerial skill combo.

I love doing SS > D > AA on Seha and W > D > Q > S (turn around) > A with Yuri.

Edit: For people who have their skills moved around it is:

Reversal + Extend > Blitz in air > Discharge + Extend in air for Seha,
Rolling Vulcan! > Full Magazine Launch > Ten Character Slash > Sonic Slash > Turn around to face enemy > Automatic Fire for Yuri
Attack for the hit, fight for the win.

Sadly, bosses will still activate their super armor attacks in air, and even some normal monsters too, like the burring action from flowers in Zone 3 will make them fall instantly.

Also, ppl can change skills from their default slots (at least i do it myself, forced fall in C is dangerous @_@), so your combos are hard to understand (again, at least for me. :C)


For the OP, aside from the bonus damage and stuff, imo, air combos are cooler than ground combos, so that's it. xD

I'm too lazy to catch mobs mid air so I wait for them to come down to me and I continue my loops.

Tho, yes. More bonuses mid air.

I just found a new reason: It is apparently the only reliable way to avoid Hecatoncheires' massive AoE electric attack that covers the entire field.

Damn thing killed me, but the other Seubi avoided it with >>XZZ followed up with the starting skill.
