The Battle for Net Neutrality

I understand most of the members here aren't from the USA...
This is really a USA problem, but I'm sure Team Internet would greatly appreciate any foreign help!
ANY HELP AT ALL WILL BE GREATLY, GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Summary:
Big name ISPs want to charge hosts for traffic.
If this passes:
(Please highlight if you are using legacy theme)
  • ClosersHQ will be forced to have relatively no/slower traffic from USA
  • There's a high chance that it'll be impossible to connect to foreign sites like http://closers.nexon.com/ and anime/manga sites at ALL
  • If ISPs are capable of choosing what takes priority, there will ALWAYS be gigantic lag. If this passes, PvPing against anyone in the USA will be a living NIGHTMARE.
Please send e-mail to senators to prevent this!
When you sign, you will be supporting the reclassification of ISPs as 'Common Carriers'.

A 'Common Carrier' is not allowed to discriminate against the things they carry, preventing them to from passing this BS.

Warning to new players:
CLOSERS is a game that adjusts several important details in almost every single patch.
So something that may have been true a month ago may not be true now. Check the date before you reply!

I'm glade its not happening around me,but at the same time the reason why no one cares about unlimited download traffic here is the stupid upload rate, currently it can never exceed 50Kb/s here and no internet provider has any kind of subscription for uploading purposes, just because almost no one use that (or they get told to wait 15hour uploading 1.5Gbit on youtube Zzz)

I hope things go fine for the ISP issues since it will simply destroy gaming and MMOs sensitive to lag, hence even make companies close.

~10 years later~

Any real changes?
In Brazil we had lots of discussions about this 2 years ago. We called it "Marco Civil".
Many people were against it, but it ended up being approved. Nothing really changed though. Same as ever. lol
