KoG in NA is KoG Games (KoGG). They are a publisher in NA.

That's very interesting. Can I post that on the front page?

All servers will have hackers, no need to directly attack a server.

You mean Kill3rCombo? I forgot they got bought by KoG.

Only apparent when it hits the West though. Hell, Korean and Japanese versions of MMOs don't seem to have any hacker problems. At least, not from what I see. It's only when it goes global.

Also, I heard DFO is coming out this March, and CloserS is basically 3D DFO with Elsword characters in modern times. It won't stand a chance.

At the very least, I'll take a look at NA for the translated story, but that's it. Wouldn't even be surprised if they IP block non-Americans.

Nah, people are overhyping DFO. The game died in NA even though they got free publicity from being a Nexon game. Even when DFO comes out in March, it'll still struggle, just with a slightly less crappy publisher.
If Closers does come out in NA, it'll probably do well like Els NA. The only thing keeping Closers back is a lack of PvP and its steep skill curve.

A lot of MMORPG companies are reluctant to open games on NA due to competition and the emergence of mobile gaming, so we might not see Closers on the west? I dunno. Just like how they keep on holding back PSO2 release for NA.

Were you really around when the DFO devs put up an alpha test for the game last year? They only had a handful of servers ready for the test because they thought exactly as you did and believed Nexon's reasoning that North Americans were uninterested in the game. Much to their surprise, their servers filled up the second the alpha test opened, and they had to triple the amount of servers they had.

Keep in mind, the real reason DFO died wasn't because of "lack of interest in the country", but because Nexon NA didn't give a damn about the game at all. Little to no advertisement, crap customer service that only listened if it was a cash shop issue, so many bugs left unchecked, hackers everywhere, huge gap between updates, treated the small but loyal playerbase like crap, and more.

I honestly doubt DFO's gonna bomb again. Especially now that it's not handled by Nexon NA anymore, but by the actual devs.

Except Nexon NA treats all of their games that isn't an FPS or Maplestory like garbage. Dragon's Nest and Vindictus are suffering from the exact same things that you listed. They're still alive simply because they've garnered more player interest than DFO had. DFO's shutdown was only partly caused by Nexon NA's poor treatment, otherwise every game that they neglected would've gone through the same fate as DFO.

And the servers that you said they had to triple were probably miniscule in the first place. Neople's a game developer, they can't afford big buck servers that a dedicated publisher like Nexon can have. Also notice how the new DFO's site has less than 40k likes. Considering that's the only official site that the new DFO has, the amount of likes is probably an accurate estimate to its playerbase. That's relatively small, and considering how long it's been since DFO was announced (It's been like a year by now?), won't get much bigger even when CBT comes out.

4 to 12? Probably more, since I remember there being 2 pages of servers, and a good number of them were always full.

Most of those likes are likely from the American region alone. Keep in mind that DFO NA was restricted to Americans only, so I'm guessing the IP restriction contributed to the low number. Not to mention the lack of advertising. The game's confirmed to be international so I'm guessing the numbers will increase exponentially come release. As to why the likes still stayed low during alpha? Like you said, they likely couldn't afford enough servers, and it still was on alpha test, so there was little reason to expand beyond the budget they had.

Right now, I'm more concerned about what this'll mean for Elsword because 1) DFO will be international, 2) I've seen people who've played Elsword for a long while say the alpha version of DFO(which is the same build Nexon NA was using) was better than Elsword, and 3) people are waiting to quit Elsword for DFO.
