Currently, Nexon has decided to completely abandon all recorded voices for Tina and switch the voice actor. This was decided 2 days before her update.
Tina's voice actor, only given to us so far by the initial "K", has recently uploaded a picture to her Twitter wearing a feminism shirt that "supposedly" supports a controversial "Feminazi" website in Korea.
When asked about her intention, the voice actor just said that she thought the website had few correct ideas, and she said she will support what she will believe right and will take responsibilities for her actions accordingly.
This controversial website named "Megalia" has been known for their one-sided arguments and intention that their official Facebook page was shut down by Facebook. The t-shirt that the Tina's voice actor was wearing was Megalia's attempt to protest against Facebook's decision. (Even though the T-shirt itself was from a foreign project)
Due to a voice actor having an implication of supporting such controversial website, the people have been asking for the voice actor to be switched. Nexon has quickly decided to abandon all voices and switch the voice actor within a day of this incident breaking out.
There has been a whole swirl of fiasco in Twitter about this, saying that the voice actress didn't do anything wrong and Nexon is being a terrible company for using their powers to illegitimately fire a voice actress for their own use.
...Let's summarize this fiasco down.
The voice actor for Tina has recently uploaded her thoughts into her blog:
She basically says that she supports the notion of feminism, but did not look too carefully into the severity of her actions when she was uploading that just one picture.
Also the fact that she wasn't thinking of Megalia when she bought the shirt.
However, Nexon should not be blamed for this as they've already fully paid her dues when she recorded the voice. She wasn't fired. She was a freelancer and they filled out each part of their contracts accordingly. The voice just was not being used.
This was agreed by both Nexon and the voice actress herself.
About Megalia... Let me clarify, speaking as a Korean. This website IS a website of radical feminists, often referred to as “feminazis” in English. There may be some notion of Megalia4 not being so much so and are rather moderate feminists, but they too are connected to these radicals in Megalia and the owner of the Megalia4 page has made some discriminatory remarks. They can’t be viewed as separate.
It is true that the females are often mistreated in Korea due to our culture still being set back a little. However, please don’t take the wrong idea of Korea is full of people who are just against feminism overall.
So, this fiasco about is she good? Did Nexon just use their power to fire an innocent voice actress?
That's all null. It was useless.
The downside is that we now won't have fully voiced Tina for who knows how long. But that's just about it.
Please don't further make this problem an issue.
P.S. This is another text wall I sent as an explanation.
